Toy safety testing-Compression test Mar,22 2019

Toy safety is the primary task of parents and manufacturers.In this article, we will continue to discuss the safety of toys and identify potential hazards in toys to provide more security products for the market. GESTER Instruments Today introduce a toy safety testing: Compression test.


Compression Test: Test procedure:Place the toy on a horizontal rigid plane and make the part under testing on the top.Apply a pressure of 110N + 5N to the measured area through a rigid metal indenter with a diameter of 30mm + 1.5mm and hold for 10 seconds on for 5 seconds.


Judgment criteria: toys designed for small children who can’t sit up alone should not be cracked,if the crack does not cause damage obviously,it is acceptable.Toys designed for children under 3 years should not produce small parts, contactable sharp point and sharp edge. Masks and helmets should not have exposed cusps, edges, or loose materials that can enter the eye.


Equipment: EN Compression Test Disc is used to provide a pressure test for toy plane.

According to the standard requirements,all accessible area that is inaccessible to smoothly contact on the toy surface shall be subjected to a compression test during the drop test or tip over test.

Standards:EN 71-1,ISO 8124-1,GB 6675-2
