Recently, GESTER Instruments has developed and produced the new style chair testing equipment - Chair Seating and Back Testing Machine. The machine tests the strength and durability of the seat and backrest by simulating the daily use load of the seat.

The machine is equipped with two drive devices, which can be individually controlled to repeatedly load the test points of the seat. Through different parameter settings, the machine can do following test on the seat:

1. Seat and back static load test.

2. Seat and back durability test.

3. Seat front edge static load and durability test;

4. Horizontal forward static loading test for backrest.

5. Headrest static load test,

6. Legs forward static load test,

7. Legs lateral static load test.

Chair Seating and Back Testing Machine operation method:

1.Determine the loading points.

Ordinary seat: (usually 4 feet), draw the center line (the process of drawing line is omitted). Put the loading template, put the weight on / or not depending on the standard, find the A and B loading points, and mark them.

Office chair: (one rotary axis), draw the center line. Find the intersection of the rotary axis and the seat, mark it as point A, apply 640 N force to point A through the seat loading pad. At 300 mm above point A, the point at the centerline of the backrest is marked as point B.

2.Adjust the loading pads.

Loosen the screws, place the office chair on the machine, adjust the position, align the seat loading pad with the loading point A, and tighten the screws to check whether the chair can move. The loading pad is aligned with the A loading point, and after the chair cannot be moved, turn on the machine.

Click on the Manual Mode and click on the Manual Interface. Adjust the seat motor up and down and the cylinder to forward and backward, and press down the seat. Adjust the backrest cylinder forward and backward, motor up and down, and rotate disc under the cylinder, so that the seat back loading pad is loaded at the loading point B at 90°. Retract the backrest cylinder to the upper limit position, and the seat cylinder to the upper limit position. The adjustment is completed.

3.Start testing.

Click the appropriate mode to set the force value and hold time to test.

Note: When the force value of the backrest of the chair has a tendency to tip over the chair, you must immediately press the emergency stop button to enter the manual mode. Be careful to move the cylinder forward and backward, be sure not to let the machine get stuck, reset the machine. Then turn down the backrest force value of the chair and test it.
